How to Get to The Hills from the Airport?
Just landed in Shanghai and wondering how to reach your home at The Hills? Whether you’re arriving at Pudong or Hongqiao Airport, we've got you covered with easy and convenient transportation options.
From Pudong International Airport (PVG):
Maglev Train + Metro:
Take the Maglev train from PVG to Longyang Road Station (8 minutes).Transfer to Metro Line 2 at Longyang Road and continue towards your specific area.
Total time: 60 minutes.
You also can take Metro Line 2 directly from PVG. It goes through the city center with stops at key stations like Lujiazui, People’s Square, and Jing’an Temple.
Taxi:
Taxis are available from both terminals at PVG.
Total time: 50-70 minutes, depending on traffic.
Cost: around 300 rmb
Airport Shuttle Buses:
Several bus lines go from PVG to different parts of Shanghai.
For example:
Line 1: PVG to Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2.
Line 2: PVG to Jing’an Temple.
Total time: 70 minutes
From Hongqiao International Airport (SHA):
Metro Line 2 or Line 10:
You can take either Metro Line 2 or Line 10 from the airport.
Line 2 connects to central areas like People’s Square and Lujiazui, while Line 10 covers stops like Xintiandi and Yuyuan Garden.
Estimated Travel Time: 35 minutes
Taxi:Available directly from the terminals at Hongqiao Airport.

Using eSIMs or prepaid SIM cards in China
Need to stay connected during your trip to China?An eSIM (embedded SIM) allows you to activate a mobile plan without the need for a physical SIM card. It’s convenient and can be set up before or upon arrival in China.To use an eSIM in China, ensure your device supports eSIM technology by checking your device’s settings or specifications (most newer smartphones, including iPhones from 2018 and later, are eSIM-ready).
You can buy eSIM cards directly at The hills,which allows you to access the internet seamlessly, bypassing typical restrictions in China.
If your device does not support eSIM technology, prepaid SIM cards are available in China as an alternative to international roaming. To purchase a SIM card in China, you must present your passport, as regulations require phone numbers to be linked to IDs.

Scanning a code to pay?
Paying for things in China is a little bit different than other countries. Cash is seldom used especially in the big cities. Now many places do have credit card machines, so you can swipe your credit card but not every place has that. The easiest way to pay for things in China is using QR codes by either through WeChat or Alipay. How to get a train ticket to another city?
China’s high-speed trains are one of the most convenient and efficient ways to travel between cities. Whether you want to visit nearby cities like Suzhou, Hangzhou, or Nanjing, or explore farther destinations like Beijing,Chengdu.Here’s everything you need to know about buying train tickets.
The official website of China’s railway network is 12306.cn and is also available as a mobile app. It allows you to check train schedules, buy tickets, and select seat types.
If you prefer to purchase tickets in person, you can head to the ticket counter at the train station. The staff can assist you in English, making it easy for you to buy tickets on the spot.But train tickets can sell out quickly, especially during peak seasons or holidays. We recommend booking tickets at least a few days in advance, if possible.
